It's a Monday morning. You woke up to your alarm fully rested, got ready for your day, and had your breakfast. You made your coffee for the day, got in the car, drove to work, and sat in front of your computer. You turn it on, open your content calendar and... what do you post this week?
For many business owners, the hardest thing to face in the morning is a blank piece of paper. What in the world will you talk about today? What do people want to see? What makes you the expert? Sometimes it's easy to come up with an idea, like when you have a sale running or an event coming up. But sometimes you find yourself searching Google or Pinterest for ideas and end up falling into the rabbit hole.
We're here to help! Here are 10 easy ideas for social media content.
First off, it's important to know that you shouldn't be posting exclusively business-related content. Think about what you like to see as a consumer. Do you like to see sales posts taking over your feed? My guess is no. People like to see personality, humor, recipes, animal photos and videos, and more. Our first three content ideas include:
1. This or that questions (example: Do you prefer coffee or tea?)
2. A motivational quote
3. A meme
These are all great ideas, but the things that get the most engagement on business pages are personalized posts. People like to see you, the business owner, and engage with you. So don't be afraid to let your clients into your personal life! Some posts like this are:
4. Telling your clients what inspires you
5. Sharing a book you just read and why you like it
6. Sharing your workspace
7. Feature a business you love to work with
Any of these things give your clients a peek into your life and allow them to get to know you.
Lastly, there are posts that help your clients get to know your business. These are great things to post, but I recommend no more than half of your posts be exclusively business-related. This is a great time to post:
8. A feature about a product or service you provide
9. Your Origin Story: How did your business get started?
10. A sneakpeek of what's to come.
Now that you've learned a little bit about what you can post on your social media platforms, you can find your content calendar, fill it out, and get started on creating your posts for the week. I hope this sparked some inspiration!
